The new maps all suck...
They're too focused on looks and cluttering up everything; the beauty of the original maps is they're simple, you can tell the models from the environment and they have great flow. In these new maps they just all want to be mazes, as detailed as possible and allow players to just blend in and hide.... like this is CS, it isn't Dayz, models need to stand out from the background.

Yeah, so far I've played Black Gold, Mist, and Overgrown and so far Overgrown is my favorite and the others suck ass. The other two have such unnecessary verticality and branching twisted paths it's so hard to predict where the enemy will be. The catwalks on Black Gold span most of the map and basically provide a giant headglitch spot. Mist is so T-sided it's unreal, B site is located so close to T-spawn the terrorists can get there just as or before the defenders arive. Nevermid that the whole map is chock full of places to corner-camp and hide. The only likable thing about mist is you can climb the giant radio tower which is pretty cool. Overgrown is by far the best bescause its got the good old CS recipe like Dust 2. There are enough paths for the terrorists to choose from but not enough to give the defenders too many entries to cover. The problem is these maps seem to COD focused, for quick running and gunning, for which Black Gold would be great for. But the devs need to realize this is a competive game, and we don't like to run around with our heads cut off.

New maps are there so gold nova and silver kids can run around with p90's to have "fun".
So, they are large, and have lots of flank routes?

Exactly what I disliked about other maps = they are all about straight head-on attack. Not good for the stealthy guys.

They're all COD wannabe maps, it's like this is CS, not COD.

Actually, that's just Rush. People stand out well enough on pretty much every other map.

The maps do feel alot like cod maps and even the new loading screen feels like cod. Black Gold has the be the most COD like map in cs history. its a deathmatch map
