Valve is worth $7.7 billion in 2022
Valve is worth $7.7 billion in 2022. Valve generated around USD13 billion in total revenue in 2022, about USD10 billion of the revenue was from the Steam store.

Valve's revenue from counter-strike hits $1 billion in 2023. Valve's Counter-Strike game earned over $1 billion in revenue in 2023.

Did I read that correctly, 1/10 of all revenue is from Counter Strike?!?!?!
With all the games online and the entire Steam Store, 1/10 is Counter strike revenue??

Wow that's a pretty profitable game i would say, not?
1,5 million players, the biggest online shooter in human history.
And you people actual pay this company to get cheated on LMAOOOO.

At least ask Elon Musk to buy out the company.

This figure has to be inflated or manipulated.

I don't think Steam is even close to the platform it claims to be.

Everything from player count to skin prices is heavily manipulated.

https://www.kitguru.net/gaming/matthew-wilson/court-documents-reveal-steam-profit-margins-and-valve-employee-counts/

"Valve is an oddity in the gaming market. It is a privately owned and operated company, so it doesn't publicly reveal its financials, nor does it take on outside investments."

"The documents also revealed Steam's profit margins between 2009 and 2021, showing that at its peak, Valve had Steam operating with an 80% gross margin. In 2021, that number had dipped to around 75%, and Valve's operating margins for Steam also tend to hover around the 50% mark. This confirms something we've all known for years – Valve makes a lot of money."

They basically have relatively very little number of employees but make a sht load of money, even if it is over estimated or overvalued.

For a second, pretend Valve wasn't in the gaming industry.

What kind of profit would you expect a "random store" to have, given these facts:
- this store is available almost in all countries
- whatever you buy, you can use anytime and anywhere you are
- it has over 1 billion users overall
- it has, on average, about 30 million shoppers inside the store at all times
- almost anyone can sell their own products inside Valve store, and they collect a %%percentage
- it has a lot of free items, which attract new customers all the time

So, now, does it feel so crazy to see the 7-8 billion profit margin?

Exactly.....If you have so much money, you can easily upgrade servers and update the game to proper standards. Thats why I refuse to pay a cent on CS2 content or services.

For Elon to buy Gabe has to be willing to sell. And he has said that there are no plans of selling it.
The cheaters paid them more than regular players did.

Why should Elon Musk buy it? To make it worse? We all know what happened to Twitter when he bought it. I don't get it with y'all's Elon Musk fascination, dude is just a clown who appeals to... you know who.

Well yeah, it's pretty easy to launder money through skins and market transactions... no wonder

Pretty easy to understand when you're comparing financials from different years. Also Counter-strike is not the biggest online shooter in human history. PUBG, Fortnite, Call of Duty are bigger. Majority of Counter-strikes revenue/profits are from straight up gambling and running an unregulated casino.

Elon is too busy looking at buying MSNBC or CNN right now. Gabe won't sell and Elon could use his time better anywhere else.
