Something very strange with part of the steam system
Something very strange with part of the steam system

I know how this may sound, but listen.

Nothing unusual
I got hacked using phishing or something, somehow got a mega super secret code from Steam Guard, and sold my inventory items.

Oddities
Based on the account login history, it is clear that I was the last one to log in and out of it, I did not put anything up for sale, letter about the sale of an item arrived in the mail 50 minutes after I logged out of my account.
A few hours later I saw a letter, I began the restoration procedures and logged into my account, looking at the login history it was clear that after me no one entered or exited my account, how could someone sell items without logging into the account?

Multiple users cannot be in the same account at the same time, so it turns out that these sales were carried out by the Steam system without my consent or knowledge?

By the way, just to clarify, after selling my items, someone simply put up some garbage for the required amount and bought it with money from my items, another funny thing is that one of these rubbish purchases was canceled, and they returned the money to me, or rather they put it on hold.
I wrote to support with questions about this, they simply sent a standard letter and closed the request

Has anyone had similar nonsense?

People who log into shady sites often share your experience.

Bro, it's normal that I was hacked, not normal, this is the moment of logging in and out of the account and then closing the request for no reason
This sounds like a huge hole in the steam system

Yes I was robbed in May the same way. They took over my Steam Guard throught a phishing site. It's a well known method. I did some it forensic digging and steam support confirmed everything I found. I fell for scammers. Will not happen again.

The most important thing it wouldn't have been possible when I hadn't used steam guard. It was the enabler for this scam.

You have to login to a fake site and they ask for your SMS code. And so they transfer your steam guard to their smart phones and so they can login to your account and do trades and confirm them with your steam guard. Steam guard was fresh installed and I didn't know really how it works.

It would have been impossible when I'd stayed to email confirmation. I do not trade.

If I did this it would appear in the login history, but it’s not there
If they received my data and logged into my account, this would also be displayed, but it’s not there.
This is the problem: I lost a couple of bucks and someone has several thousand in their inventory, and at the same time we have a hole in the steam system.

No. You logged your steam account into a shady site.
Nothing more.

Dont do that.

Follow this logic.

You hand your car keys to a thief. He opens your car, takes all your packages out and runs away.

Would you think your car locks are faulty? Would you blame toyota or whoever?

"You" gave your keys away bud. Dont do that.

I told you how it works. Did you log in to any third party site?

BRO, if they took my data and logged into my account, I would be able to see it in the login history, but it’s not there.

I saw it only in my Steam Guard as far I remember.

Why would you login to steam through the browser at all when you don't use third party websites?

Once a friend sent me a game as a gift or something like that and I couldn’t accept or return it through Steam and followed the link in the email
