14700K owners... What's your FPS?
I’m thinking about upgrading my CPU to the i7-14700K or KF to play CS2.

Right now, my FPS is usually around 160–220, but I’m aiming for 300–400 FPS. Do you think the i7-14700K can get me there? If not, what would you recommend?

This will be my last CPU upgrade for a while, so I need something that can handle all games without any issues. My current CPU is holding me back, especially in CPU-heavy games, so I’m looking for the best option to fix that.

My current specs:
i5-12400f
RTX 4070
24gb 3200mhz

Just an update:
After some testing, I discovered that using FLEX mode RAM is not recommended as it significantly impacts gaming performance in CS2. I observed an average FPS of around 160-170, with noticeable drops during combat and shooting sequences.

Switching to a dual-channel setup with 8GB + 8GB of DDR4 3200MHz RAM made a substantial difference. The performance was much more stable, and the average FPS increased to 240, even during intense combat scenarios.

I've also ordered i7-14700KF and will provide a final update once it arrives and is tested. I’ll share whether the upgrade is worth it for others considering a similar path as mine.

Edit: my CPU arrived and tested.
Significant improvements avg FPS 360+ and during gameplay 400-500fps using competitive settings. Really worth the money.

Thats cool. Getting my 14700 today or tomorrow and look forward to the improvement. Moving from 12400. What cooler are you running, and are u using stock/auto settings on the CPU in BIOS?
I swear my cpu was hitting 92 celcius during gaming. I had to undervolt and set PL1 and PL2 to 125w to reduce the temp to 81 to 87 celcius in CS2.

My ML240L masterliquid AIO aren't capable to cool this CPU 14700KF anymore.

Currently, I had to buy a new case to fit a new 360L AIO. I already bought Liquid Freezer 3 360 AIO and I'm waiting for it to be delivered. This week, I'll provide update.

if you don't mind upgrading more, go for AM5 and either go for a 7800X3D or 9800X3D, I myself have a 5800X3D and I'm comfortably getting 400-500FPS in a regular competitive match most of the time

You have a 14th gen intel, so I wouldn't suggest pushing them. There's already the most massive class action lawsuit in history against intel right now because almost ALL 13th and 14th gen CPU's are faulty and are killing themselves. I wouldn't push that cpu whatsoever. If anything, you should be looking to decrease frames to offload stress since the problem is buy n large, unfixable. There's a few bandaids, but the fault is technically unfixable.
