The same was observed when the armory pass came out. People just sold a lot of things to buy passes, that saturated the market and let the prices drop. The same thing happens now - people selling skins and cases to buy the shangai major pass. Whether the new possibility of renting skins does have an impact on prices is not sure yet. There is a price range where it does make sense that the cases are consumed to rent skins, but I think all the higher price cases like Huntsman, Armory Deal 1-3, E-Sport Summer Cases etc., nobody will spent 10,- EUR for a week of skins in random condition. So my prediction is, nothing big will happen.

And if in doubt, just invest in Gloves and Knifes - you cant rent these.
