Poor performance on RTX 4060
Hey folks,

I'm very disappointed because I bought a new msi 4060 and I can't have more than 150 fps in game, it's 50,60,80, max 110 most of the time. My previous graphics card was a gtx 1050 ti and it's almost the same performance. I know that my pc is not that good but I think that this performance is piece of crap. I was searching that my pci express being on version 3.0 is not the bottleneck, based on yt videos lol. My specs are:

- Core i3 10105F LGA 1200 (quadcore with 4.6ghz boost and 8 threads) (I know that it is an old cpu but I can see people with that and even a bad video card having much more fps, like 200, 190 ...

- 16GB DDR4 2666ghz kingston

- Crucial P3 ssd nvme 1tb (cs2 is here)

- MSI Ventus 2x 4060 with 8GB

- Coolermaster mwe 650w bronze

- Operating system windows 11 on a patriot sata3 ssd

- Gigabyte H410M H (pci express 3.0)

I tried some startup options, change driver to an old one, lower cs2 settings.

Some notes:

Taskmanager monitoring:

- CPU use around 50%

- memory use around 9gb (all things)

- GPU use doesn't go above 50%

Thanks in advance

What resolution do you use ? I have the same card, it is optimal only for 1080p on recent games.

CS is CPU focused game. Make sure your temps are not high.

i would recommend u to do a fresh windows install (w10)

then install newest drivers, and put the power plan to high performance

downgrade to gtx 1060 works great

Monitor usage of each core individually in task manager. If some cores are maxing out, the CPU is very likely bottlenecking the 4060.

Your CPU is seriously bottlenecking your GPU. And i3 10105F is just not beefy enough for CS2. Source2 is pretty heavy hitter CPU wise. I wouldn't play this game on anything weaker than 5700x3D-5800x3D or 12th-13th gen i7. Otherwise the CPU is going to handicap the performance - more or less.

Guys, I used the Park Control app and set the mode to "Bitsum highest performance" which gave me a noticeably performance. FPS is now above 150 without oscillations (like ones when you are pvping with someone). I changed some things on nvidia control panel like Power mode to max performance and some other stuff, you can see those at https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/s/smtf3sg6yg

I believe that it could be, but how, my processor and cores are not reaching 100%, it doens't even reach 50% most of the time... I think that it's a good processor as it can go above 4.5 ghz, even being an i3 quad (8 threads).

Changed the plan with Park Control and it gave me a good performance.

They are not high bro, 55ºC was the maximum temp I got while gaming. (stock cooler)

I'm on 1080p now with high settings.
