I mean, it's something that you might as well collect, since it's given to you. I thought...maybe I could stick it to valve by not even claiming my weekly drops. Impossible it will still force you to take them...so I might as well use them as ten freebies in infinite trade up contracts :-\
Some skins I got rid of in the past ended up skyrocketing in price, and it's...free money....like the butterfly knife that I had originally $75, or the glock dragon tattoo, sold for $3.33, and it's worth about $300 now, so I'm not going to just pass up on random freebies in a game. I know I can't get a knife from a trade up, but the odds are always there to literally get almost any other skin, which can be worth a lot.
I mean, I have all the skins I like playing with. They're not all fancy...it's like a theme, or some of them I use for an advantage...like the m4a1-s varicamo, works well on ancient, dust, mirage, anubis. yes I could use my black lotus, but that stands out more.
Also if I focus less on the quality of skins in my inventory, maybe it'll become less of a big deal for others in terms of their inventory....and that it doesn't need to be incredibly stacked.
But playing for a case drop? lol
It's ~$0.26 case, to get a level up you need about 3 comp matches so it might take up to 3 hours, as a result you get ~$0.08 per hour. I think even actual slaves get more, because they get food which worth more than this.
People who hate this game and keep playing it just for weekly drops are literally wannable slaves and masochists. I can't even imagine how bad the quality of life it must be to fall that low.
slavery isnt fun
playing CS2 is fun
u get money for fun
So you get paid for your time anyway, and then valve gives you a nice weekly bonus, which can sometimes be pretty high if you hit the rare drop pool.
I myself dropped some of the early weapon cases recently, so even despite my quite high salary (for Germany), the drops were still worth my time. I think it was 80€ or something like that, for one 15 minute game of wingman.
