or if you are using wifi to connect to the Internet in an apartment house where there's a lot of other wifi routers

despite it being "normal" in such cases it will of course feel much worse to play like that compared to 0% loss

network characteristics don't end on maximum download speed and maximum upload speed, you are getting losses — the network connection your ISP provides you with is unstable. (or maybe it's your router in which case you will be able to solve it yourself)

buuut, as somebody said, "I couldn't even make it past the intro", so TL;DR(W?): if no ISP is better in your area, get business-class internet somehow.

so ive moved since cs2 came out. better faster internet for every game but CS2. Valorant for example plays just fine. so what is different about the config of this game than all the others in my library?

it's the fact that this game doesn't trust your game client as much, it only collects inputs from your client but to see whether you hit or not (or whether you can walk somewhere or not at all) it replays your inputs on the server and sends you data back.

if you want it to play like Valorant set buffering packets (buffering over packet loss) to 1 or 2 if 1 doesn't help in game settings, but that increases ping.

however of course that isn't going to be cutting edge competitiveness. I'd suggest you find people in your area who also play CS2 and ask them if they have any issues, if they don't — ask them who their ISP is and switch to that.

P.S. an example of a game which does trust the game client a lot is GTA 5, cheaters can join your session, EVEN in singleplayer if you once joined multiplayer before and didn't restart your game yet, trap you somewhere and spawn money on you. and YOU will be the one who's going to get banned.
you didn't see anybody spawning items (except for due to a bug one time, and even then not arbitrary) in CS ever, right? flying too is impossible

Seem like more and more people are trying to game on 4G/5G, that could also be a obvious reason for your problems. You need a stabile connection to game FPS online, you could settle for 10Mbit/s both ways if the connection is stabile. (Cant buy thoose low speeds anymore but)

Here is fix lil n boy , go to settings game and change the packet thing to 1 or 2 i forgor the setting but yeah fixes 100% of the time ong i tried myself w 5% packet loss and now 0

Main Menu -> Settings (gear in the top left) -> "Game" tab -> "Buffering to smooth over packet loss", it's "NONE" by default

none of those settings work its still asss fact that we have to play with settings to optimize ur game that was working fine before updates is damage control cope. Fire the devs

yes i thoroughly enjoyed the recommendations of "finding a new ISP", "your internet is only 4G bro", "contact your local CS pros for more info". Game runs at -30% all match and peaks at 70% during buy period. The entire post is more of a tongue in cheek rhetorical. just tested at 7pm on a weekday getting actually 608 Mbps and uploads of 48Mbps. This far tops any of the localized comcast services, of which I had the same issues anyway. Ive also always had a wired connection. I mean 6 months ago if i used the mic id drop to 6FPS in game, so surely my ISP was to blame..

but you can blame the game all you want if you want, like, have you ever wondered why discussions aren't filled completely with how unplayable the game is? how are other players playing the game? maybe they don't have issues like that and you are in the ~0.1% of players who do have such issues?..
