Cpu upgrade advice
Hi,

I was thinking about upgrading my cpu (Ryzen 5 5600x) for a better one, but my knowledge about pc stuff is very limited so I would be glad if anyone gave me an advice what cpu should I get (I’ve been browsing many benchmarks/IT shi websites but there is no information about overall performance in CS2, that’s why I’m asking YOU)

Requirements:
Changing motherboard isn’t needed
Is compatible with geforce rtx 4060

Thank you for your help! :steamhappy:

YEH GUY
your best bet is the 5800x3d for your current set up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=basi1AHmQ00 here a video comparison for you. After upgrade your game be smoother as the improve on the 1 percent low. gain anywhere 100 to 180 fps depends on section of the maps. good investment since its dirt cheap now.

Get AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D. Cheaper than 5800X3D and offers almost the same performance.

5800X3D has limited availability nowadays and is out of stock everywhere in the UK. If it's available in your country, and you're willing to pay more for it, then buy it.

Also, what RAM do you have?

He has Ryzen 5 5600X, so the motherboard is AM4.

No CPU upgrade needed. If you still go for it, just be sure it is 8C16T or more.

What even is this advice? He wants a better CPU as he obviously wants more FPS in the game, therefore CPU upgrade IS needed.

"Just be sure it is 8C16T or more."
Yeah having more cores and threads is nice, but what he really needs is Ryzen 7 5700X3D or 5800X3D because of their 96MB L3 Cache.

Idk anything about amd but from a few quick reads it seems like 5700x3d or 5800x3d are the candidates. Just depends on if op wants to spend the extra money for slightly better performance

He clearly said he doesn't want to upgrade the motherboard. He would also need to buy new RAM if he upgraded to AM5, and perhaps cannot afford all of that.

It makes all the sense in the world to upgrade his CPU, because with 5700X3D or 5800X3D he will get a very good FPS boost over Ryzen 5 5600X.

read again what he said "just wasting money for a small performance improvement"
it is improvement. yes. but its so small that its just wasting money and making no sense. either he keep his system and dont upgrade, or he upgrade to AM5, ofc that would cost more, but it would make more sense since AM4 is dying anyway, basically dead already, and IF buying new pc or upgrading, AM5 just makes the most sense. still his specs are ok and he doesnt need to, but just saying.. IF. then AM5

It would be a waste of money if 5700X3D was expensive, but it's not. It's cheap and he'll get much better and more stable FPS on it.

Obviously it would be much better to upgrade to AM5 platform, but it's up to him if he can afford it or not. I am just giving him advice based on his requirements.

yeye, i would just save the money instead for AM5 upgrade, imo its money spend where its not needed cause with that X3D upgrade, he want to upgrade again in like a year max anyways.. but ye he have to know and decide.. imo just better to save the money

Although 1 percent low of the 5800x3d is better. In cs2 this is more important than average fps. Although cost an arm and leg more.
