Counter-Strike is not fun anymore.

I remember when i used to play with my middle school friends in casual and in flying scoutsman and comp and community servers and a bit later in danger zone a lot. In csgo we had TONS of different gamemodes. We had community servers. The game was accessible to anyone with a computer from the last 10 years. Then, cs2 rolled around, and csgo was gone. They intentionally even made the community server browser in csgo legacy branch not work to force players to cs2. The game is in an unfinished state, and over half of the maps are gone. VAC does not work. The community server browser in cs2 does not even work. We get no communication from the creators about possible future updates. Why?? The game is not fun anymore.

They intentionally killed off csgo. Earlier cs versions were left playable on steam as a seperate game, but csgo was not. Sure, it can be downloaded through options menu, but community servers were intentionally killed off. Why is this? One might say, that it was done to move the skins. This is a bulls--t excuse. Valve, the owner of both cs and steam, has the power to move the skin system from one game to another. Even if they didnt, it would still be possible update the csgo appid to cs2 and make a "new game id" for csgo. Either way, maintaining csgo would not reguire any resources from valve. Just look at cs:s. it gets no updates. But I think there is some other reason in play to kill off csgo. I think the reason to kill csgo was to force players from csgo to cs2. This was not done on accident, but rather with careful consideration. The reason they did it was that they knew most people would continue playing csgo, because cs2 is in an unfinished, broken state and not fun to play. I think valve fu--ed up here. The way to move from csgo to cs2 would have been to keep the game in beta for much, much longer and properly get it to a level comparable to csgo or better before doing what they did.

One might say it is better due to better graphics. No it is not. Computer games are not to replace the reality, but rather for entertainment only. If you want nice graphics, go outside. Go hang out with your friends. Go experience real life. Real life is more realistic than any game will ever get. People do not play video games for graphics, but rather for fun.

Sacrificing gameplay for graphics defeats the purpose of a videogame. What valve has done is not a smart move from them. If you do not enjoy counter-strike anymore, just quit for a year or two. When you come back, that is, if you come, hopefully you will be pleasantly suprised. Thank you for reading.

You never play 1.6 right. There was so much mode that was enjoyable. Gun game was lit unlike current arms race. Scout and knife only. Zombie mode was fun too.

I know this sounds cringe but you know the mobile game pixel gun 3d. well it actually has nice maps. Imagne if cs had more maps like it.

hilarious… we all play with cheaters occasionally so we know cheaters aren’t getting banned. I have received the notification twice in cs2 and reported at least 2 dozen blatant cheaters.

They blew it hard when they took away CSGO. All those years of maps, servers, and content down the drain.
