CS2 bad performance on high end laptop.
Over the summer I bought a new gaming laptop which ran the game fine at first. (i7-13620, RTX 4060) Which I think should be more than enough to break 300 fps (correct me if I'm wrong.) Recently, my game has been stuttering pretty bad, 350 fps when I'm staring at a wall which drops to 70 fps when I'm walking around and shooting at people. I've followed just about every guide on youtube and reddit but nothing works. I've capped the fps to 80 because my uncapped fps is so choppy and annoying. I'm fine with playing with 70 fps, but I'm worried I won't be able to compete to my fullest in ranked and I'll be at a disadvantage against people with higher fps. At least it comes to stuff like flicking. Counterstrike is the only game I play these days. I kind of want to quit and wait for them to optimize the game, but I'm worried they never will. I guess my question is, is no Counterstrike better than bad Counterstrike?

A 4060 is not high end and according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixuhN8s18pA you should get around 180fps, it's funny bcoz it's the same as my 3060.

What resolution and quality are you using? 1080p High?

But overall yeah you should be getting +300fps bcoz that what I was getting when this game released. Nothing will really work because the issue is not our setups, it's the game that has bad coding so you have to buy stronger hardware to fix what devs can't.

Ah, I didn't know, my bad.

I use 1080p but all the settings are set to low, minus the ones needed for competitive play. I also set CS2 to high priority in task manager. When I load up deathmatch against bots I get around 70fps when someones on my screen and then 300-120 when walking around
Setting it to high doesn't do anything. Windows is good enough to handle priority scheduling on its own. Having lower fps with bots is also normal because the bots require resources to run locally. How are the frames against actual players?

It's literally the same fps

It fine, it'll be just like CSGO.
