This is the golden rule with the D’Alembert – If the number of wins is the same as the number of losses, you will always be in profit by the number of bets. You never win, house always wins. The only game I can think of is a poker, and maybe blackjack when cards counting. Talking about casinos and betting.

This is a common betting strategy in blackjack by people but in all honesty its fairly ridiculous and the house loves it when you play this way. The common strategy is bet so that you have to lose 8 hands in a row to lose all your money, and the logic is that the odds are low you'll lose 8 hands in a row given a 50/50, or close to that, chance (1/2)^8 = 1/256 chance. However once you play for a little while you're surely going to eventually run into the bad side of these odds. Say you play 128 hands over the course of a few hours, then you would have a 50/50 shot of walking out with no money in your pockets using this strategy.
