People will + rep you if you are friendly and trustworthy and - rep otherwise. If you have a lot of + rep, people are more happy to add or trade with you.
so true...trust no one ...anything fake and part of the scam industry .
+Rep is a good way to tell if a guy is a reputable guy or not.
If the person has a ton of -reps, don't bother.
If the person has +reps but they all happened really fast, don't bother. They got a group to spam him with fake positivity.
If the person has only plus reps, probably don't bother. Especially if they're spaced out really far, means he's probably deleted all the negatives.
If the person has a mix of +reps and a few -reps, he's probably legit.
Most importantly if a guy has a bunch of comments saying "added for trade" but his comments are friends only... It's a scammer.
And if the English in the +reps is questionable.... Don't bother.
