Crouch spraying in csgo

I heard that crouch spraying was bad in csgo so I stopped and tried to control my spray standing up but it's very inconsistent but when I crouch to control it, it almost immediately dinks my enemy in the head and kills them. I only did this in situations where I was against 1 person and I was committing to the engagement and not when their where multiple people because of the lack of mobility u get from it. I've been paying more attention to pros and it seems that they also crouch spray sometimes as well so if some one could give their opinion on crouch spraying and when it's appropriate to use that would help a lot.

Crouching hasnt any effect on most weapons while spraying. Only pistols get a significant boost in recovery time.

I mean that I fire the first couple of shots and then crouch to compensate for the spray pattern going up so all I really need to control is the left to right movement and by then their usually dead
