Counter strafing is the fastest way to stop yourself from moving. And a big mistake people make when peaking a corner is holding W+A/D so you're unable to counter strafe properly.
Remember peakers advantage always goes to the person who can hold the furthest angle from the corner your looking at. Shoulder peaking is a good tactic against an awp in the hope you can get them to take a shot and miss but theres alot of factors that can work for or against you in this.
Rule of thumb you should never peak unless you have some means of backup. One person should peak wider then the other and the hopes for at least some sort of trade.
Look at 3kliksphilip or warowl videos they should help https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5e8HZqF3cyk
