Win10?
You dont need external AVs anymore
If you are worried about viruses and visit shady sites or get shady programs, getting another AV is highly recommended. There are multiple unbiased Antivirus stress and performance tests that prove so.
Perfomance is one of the things that might be affected, if you do choose BitDefender (which is what i use actually), be sure to add the CSGO exectuable to the list of game executables so that BitDefender enters game mode and minimize it's impact. most other AVs have similar mechanisms.
I didnt have any VAC issue so far, hope that helped, feel free to message me if you need help.
Why would it give you VAC? Why would it affect peformance? If you PC is not old, then you wont notice anything.
I use bit defender since my premium kaspersky run out and its alright. You dont need it tho, only if you're paranoid like me.

Use the gaming mod profile and you will be safe it will actually take less then windows defender. The problem with windows is that it's so random when we are talking about CPU usage, it can just start making a anti virus scan when you play a game or just do something odd. So about the increase or decrease. It won't hurt the performance, maybe like 5 + y it would but not today
Ps great anti virus program btw using that for my friends

Its bad to have more then 1 anti virus program installed on your pc i hoop you know that mate
Just saying was not meant to tell you that you dont know many ppl think more anti virus the more protected you are
You can disable windows defender its many ways to to it but you have to do it in the service, regedit and stuff like that its not really easy, but if you download a anti virus program that will make the anti virus have the firewall so it wont let windows defender do anything outside scanning the files when you right click then press scan for virus
