Smoke height

So far I couldnt figure out why some smokes rise higher and some lower.
For example Anubis on b main. Sometimes you can watch inot palace from the box and sometimes you cant.

Does anyone clearly know?

Probably depends on the grenade position and it's distance from the ground.
CS2 smokes were reworked to remove one-way smokes, so as a side effect some smokes cover more space when thrown at specific places.
