- recoil for almost every weapon was reduced in CS2

because now there are no map faction based models and every map uses the same models?
oh, and also, since you're so prone to preferring older stuff disregarding any common sense — fire up that good old CS 1.6 and try running and gunning with the deagle. I consistently kill 2 expert bots from across Italy's long.
in fact, in CS 1.6 the whole randomness formula was encouraging running&gunning, because shots were more likely to hit the center of the screen (or above if you're spraying, depending on current heat value), and in CS:GO&CS2 shots are equally likely to hit any point in the current spread circle, meaning it's less predictable.
TL;DR: don't let nostalgia blind you, look at the technical side of things.

This toxic way of approaching FPS games is why they killed the recoil in Rust.
I kind of blame Valve if FPSs are so bland these days, we don't get original mechanics because they all try to emulate CS, and we pretend that it's the best because most people don't want to pay 80$ every 6 months to play COD.
As far as I am concerned, CSGO and CS2 are pretty much the same game, except that CS2 demands a better PC.
People who complain about the transition remind me of my childhood friend who didn't like CSS because they were random props laying around, which was his main argument for sticking to 1.6.
