why do all players assume everyone uses default settings?
is this some trend among nowday players that nobody knows how to go thru game settings before playing?

it's becoming quite annoying how everyone automatically assumes that i have voice and colors enabled and then they get mad if someone uses custom settings.
colors are distraction and annoyance, so is voice and music, but so far every player i've met doesn't understand that you have SETTINGS in a game, where you can customize things, like turning off colors, music, mute enemy team by default..etc. which makes game look more professional and not like a rainbow-teletubbie show.

most players don't even understand that you can turn colors off, they get mad if i say "CT is blue and T is orange". they just roll their eyes and don't even understand colors can be turned off.

most annoying things in any game are:
- background music
- background noises (such as other people talking while you try to focus)
- useless HUD colors
- other kind of useless HUD elements that are not necessary (like some screen dust/dirt effects, hit indicators..etc)

another thing that 99.99% of players don't understand, is that you can zoom out the minimap so you can see ENTIRE map, this means as soon as your teammate spots enemy or bomb, it will be marked on minimap.
so why would i need to use voice if i can see everything on minimap?

it's literally 9/10 matches where players run off and don't even realize they don't have the bomb or on CT side they all go on one site and then they realize that they're all there, can't they like .. look on minimap and see where others are?

and then there are those who are constantly like "info info INFO INFO?"
my answer is always: "your info is on minimap"
sometimes i just say "one enemy is in the spot where he's marked on minimap" and they always roll their eyes and get mad for some reason.
is it really that hard to look on minimap? it's for your own benefit.
using voice or chat to tell where MARKED enemy is ... is pointless! you might aswell just say "look on minimap", what's the point in that?

point of this post: NEVER assume that everyone has same settings as you. ALWAYS consider the fact that others have different settings or perhaps someone is deaf or colorblind .. but most players don't even think, they just get mad if someone can't hear their screams or see colors.

also to those who say colors are important, NO they are really not! this is why you don't put some symbol names that cannot be pronounced nor read by others, it's your own fault for having a name that cannot be read by others.
colors are distraction, that's why in real life any professional who operates firearms, wears those tactical yellow tinted glasses. those glasses are designed to make environment less colorful and less of a distraction and therefore it makes it easier to focus on your target. same principle goes for game, all those colors are distraction, even if you don't understand it, it's still a distraction. most people have lack of awareness and they don't know how to self-analyze, so they never understand that such things are a distraction and that's why they play bad.

one good example is here @4:43 https://youtu.be/waZVERPZatE?si=P0Y8FmxbYoI5EeHZ&t=281

i was using eyetracker so you can see where i'm looking at, on exactly 4:43 you see me briefly glance at some pipe on top of a building and i didn't even realize i did that. thruout the entire match you see me glance at things that are not even important, obviously i know you can't get on that roof, but it's basic reflexes. your eyes move onto many things and then your brain processes this information, lot of that information is ignored by your brain as it's deemed not necessary.

same principle goes for other distractions, you don't even realize it's a distraction. if that pipe on roof didn't exist, i wouldn't have looked at it and now imagine if there was enemy somewhere else in my FoV while i was glancing at that pipe? that split second would have made a huge difference, i would have reacted too late and got shot.
this is how small distractions can be difference between getting fragged or getting a frag.
it's a simple fact that most players don't even realize this is happening as they don't understand how their own mind and body works.

hope some players find this information educational and useful.

Why are you asumminf they all do ?
I really agree on the minimap part and on the voice part, I hope Valve will make zoomed out minimap the default one day

voice is ever needed if your teammates will be calling enemy footsteps early so that the rest of the team can rotate faster, but usually nowadays voice is only ever used at round 1 to say hello team and then at round 5 when somebody snaps and decides to scream at someone it's just incoherent +120dB background noise from then on

colors I think are just personal preference, I prefer calling my teammates by their color instead of calling them by their Steam profile names, because I really don't want to say "hey, *nation/race* MUST DIE, I dropped you an ak!"

forgot to mention, you can zoom out minimap further than slider allows if you manually enter the value. i set it to 0.25, i think by using a slider it only goes to 0.5

voice however is rather useless when you play solo, its impossible doing tactics with randoms, they just respond with insults or don't listen and if you're playing with friends, then you'd be using external program for voice, like teamspeak.
and those who understand tactics, don't need voice anyways as they pay attention to what they're doing, they look on minimap and look where others are going. every now and then i have those nice matches where team doesn't say a word, but plays as a team. you can clearly tell they have common sense, it's really relaxing playing with such teammates.

reason why i have voice muted by default, is cuz people always talk on wrong moment or say things like "LEFT! no RIGHT" ... DUUH .. i have sound, i can hear.
even worse is when they start screaming "ITS B ITS B" when there's really just 1 enemy, maybe 2. they haven't seen bomb, yet they panic and make false calls.
then everyone rushes there and leaves other site open .. it's like no common sense at all. it's called FAKING and they fall for it. when you're on CT side, NEVER leave sites open if you don't have the bomb.

as about names and colors, that's why i said it's player's own fault for using some b04ngO-biN0gu name that cannot be read. if someone has some weirdo name that cannot be read, i just call them "messy symbol name dude" or something like that. or i just pick most readable part of their name and say that. if they have some profanity in name, i have no problem calling them that. if they want to be called that, then so be it.

honestly i'd like to make some videos on meeting people from games in person and calling them by their weird in-game name in public place.
reminds me of one priceless clip, where some online troll showed up in virtual court with name "buttf****r9000". when judge confronted him about it, he had that legit panic face, cuz he didn't realize he forgot to change it xD
like why name yourself something like this, if you are embarassed to put your face to that name? people name themselves all sorts of disgusting things online, but when people call them by that name in real, then they get offended or embarassed .. why name yourself like that then?

NOTE: you should never use a name online that you don't want to be called by in real life, in front of others.

I use somewhere around 0.33 and radar not centered, and HUD radar scale set to the smallest so that it doesn't obscure my vision, very cool too

yes this is the worst… if you use those new chat wheels (that are worse than the configurable, although through files, radiopanel, because while you're selecting what to say you can't aim), there are even distinct "One enemy here" and "Multiple enemies here" voice commands so that you can let your team differentiate between whether they need to go or not if you don't just want to use voice chat to say this

I reaaaally want to see this video xDDDDD
edit: found it!! 3000 not 9000 right? :D

those voice command wheels aren't so bad, but i haven't put much time into customizing them, cuz most people don't really react to them anyways.
i mostly use "guarding the bomb" "need backup" and "fall back" .. but people hardly ever realize what it's about.

quite sure it was 9000, it was some dude with glasses and i think it was virtual court session via zoom.

As soon as you die there's no further radar info for me to get all while you're lying on the ground still seeing and hearing if the enemies are pushing fast, slow, rotating to the other site, hiding behind an element, waiting with an awp holding an angle. Did you hit someone? Two half-hp? One dinked? What's your estimated guess? That's all valuable info people can't get from just reading the radar but helps them play out the rest of the round.
Your teammates might be holding an angle and they don't want to lose focus checking the corner of their screen.

eye tracker has no use as you should not move your eyes at all as you want to detect movement. so you stare at center of screen all the time

that's only true if you have teammates who have common sense. glancing at the radar can cause you to lose focus indeed, but it won't matter in matches where 9 out of 10 players have no common sense and they just throw insults at you.
just now i came out of a match where enemy team just kept raging at eachother right from the start, no idea what some people's problem is.
they lost 1st round and then they started raging, one of them got himself banned for teamkilling ... in matches like that it won't make a difference, you're better off looking on radar.

this is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. i'm not sure if you're trolling or you legitametly think that you don't move your eyes when playing.
get yourself eye tracker and record your gameplay, see for yourself. you'll be looking at things you didn't even realize you look at.

i didn't say eye tracker has any use in cs, it's just interesting to see where you looking at, but it CAN help you improve your awareness. obviously on my screen i don't see it, it's invisible layer that is only visible to screen recorder.

in other games eye tracker can be fun tho, in some games it makes it possible to zoom onto minimap if you look at it or slightly turn your screen.
there's mod for GTA 5 where you can even aim with eye tracker (i have video on that aswell).
but in csgo i only did that for scientific and entertainment purposes.

edit: i'm actually afraid of using eye tracker in cs2 due all those false VAC bans, i'm afraid it might trigger a ban. back in the day i was able to get thru to valve and they said it's safe to use, but a lot has changed since. you can't even get thru to them anymore.

it is just same ideology than you use in real life, you stare to some point so you can spot the movement better, moving your eyes while playing shooting games is not needed you just look at your center of screen and turn your aim to enemy, moving eyes to enemy has not any benefit in game.

it is about min maxing your performance, in game you do not turn your eyes to enemy, you turn enemy on screen to your crosshair , moving both eyes and screen is useless.

No wonder you have 5k premier. Your type of attitude is not even close to being competitive. I would suggest you to play casual mode, so you wouldn't ruin games for other players, who actually trying to play and win games.
