i'm asking this because one of my mates was forced to verify his account because of "smurfing" risks or something.

It's optional for the majority of players, except to join leagues and suspects of smurfing.

You can also verify and queue only against verified if you get premium.

you dont lose anyything doing it.. And if you have premium you can play aswell only vs verified, so much less smurfs vs you.

how does faceit know that i'm smurfing?

what if i'm new to faceit and was already very good in csgo/cs2 before and therefore way better than the low levels?

Even if I knew (and I actually know some ways), I wouldn't share it so smurfs can't exploit the system.
