Skinchange question

A while back, while watching a demo, I noticed that I played a round with an AWP Dragon Lore I'd picked up the previous round. First and only time I've ever seen one in-game.
I just assumed it was a skinchange, but recently I saw a video (by Neok, I think) where he talked about skinchanges not showing in demos.
Makes sense if changes are client side, but never really thought about it.

That made me wonder if I actually did play with a real DL?
Can anyone confirm this?

Skin changers are client side so you wouldnt be able to see any difference if someone else was using it.

Only the skinchanger user can see changed skins. So if you've seen a DLore, then it was real (considered official servers, because on community servers there are skin plugins that allow players to use any skins).
