AIslop music kit - WTF Valve?

The Masterminds 2 Music Kit box adds the music kit "Tree Adams, Seventh Moon to the game. It's cover is AI Generated.

it's not even a good attempt at generation, with the very obvious DALL-E 3 art style, morphed hands on the green alien's right hand (Why does he have his middle finger on the trigger?), bad perspective on the spaceship, etc.

It's a slap in the face to a community of artists..

...who spend dozens of hours creating skins and already has wounds from the game's reoccurring problem with stolen art that valve has generally been good at dealing with (Loving Eyes, Doodle Lore, even the Howl!) - Valve giving the thumbs-up to low-quality AI art is is going to flood the workshop with more of it. , from people hoping one of the 10,000 skins they generate can be added to the game, so they can chase the ~six-figure license deal valve makes with their artists. Like using the workshop feed? Expect to sift through lots of poorly generated AI workshop skins from now on (AI can generate entire skins, normal maps, etc.) before finding the artist-made skins you'd actually want in the game. This hasn't been a problem before because AI proompters didn't know valve was okay with this.

What can we do about it?

Talk about it, tweet about it! I think people tend to underestimate how much Valve developers listen to the community, and I'd never doubt that there are passionate people at valve that genuinely want to improve the game. They can pay an artist (or have one of their various in-house artists) give this music kit a proper album cover. There is debate over whether the music kit itself is AI-Generated, but I don't believe this to be the case as
Tree Adams appears to be an established composer.


P.S: Don't buy items with stolen artwork, Valve won't make another contraband item, for various reasons.

Only a matter of time until all the weapon skins are AI generated, and I highly doubt Valve cares when people are willing to throw their cash away for virtual skins in a box for a game that's riddled with cheaters.

Talk with Tree Adams as valve from what I heard does not pick the artwork for the cover art.

All people stole from artists before them and never paid anything to them.
Go to art school and you literally learning how to copy great artists and how to change their art to find your own style based on what people created before you.

you cant make unique art without stealing something. if you grew up in forest with wolves you will never create art

AI Art or stolen work are problems for the Artist to solve, not the gaming community.

Why the need to shoulder that burden and spread awareness for them? We are gamers. Not their Art and craft professor or director.

What I mean is we're consumers. For example I watch a TV show. The actor's shirt design being stolen here and there shouldn't be something we have to care.
