Au contraire. Maxing out on your GPU causes inconsistent frametimes and input lag, which is unacceptable in a competitive shooter.

And yeah, i've got the same issue as OP. The game is using up 100% of my GPU after the latest update, whereas before that i was seeing 40-50% load at best. RTX4090.

Valve is mining crypto on our GPUs it seems.

what cpu are you using, 14900k and 7800x3d can make RTX 3050 go 100% usage.
2. check if there is malware or someone using your pc as farm station.
3. check if you are using browser or discord(if GPU acceleration is on on discord it takes about 50% of your gpu to render emojis and custom stuff.
4. check if you are using animated stuff or animated wallpaper in background, random process that needs GPU power like compressing/decoding or editing and exporting files.
5. stop listening to music and watching youtube in background, check your gpu temperature maybe it is heat throttling which can make your gpu also max out and perform bad
6. turn off nvidia upscaling from nvidia gerforce app, maybe it is making your game render in 4x or anything like that.
