Why do people put their real life faces on their profile pics?
Don’t you think that’s a bit risky nowadays? I see this most often in CS2 than anywhere else. Why is that?

People can Google reverse that image and find your social media and expose information. You even have online tools that can go into a photos code to even determine what mobile phone or camera it was taken from. Not a good idea if one day you anger the wrong person with mental problems in a match whether it is casual or competitive mode.

"WRONG PERSON"
yeah whatever dude
If I ever anger someone, I would also provide my address. You are welcome to come in and see what would happen if you decide to handle this like a champ

1. I use the same Steam account for work, and it's just easier to have my real face since my name isn't my real name

2. There's usually no danger unless I am being toxic or something in which case if something bad happens to me then it's completely my fault. Just accelerated Karma

That is a problem with gaming. Gaming is sadly a very toxic place with a lot of people you don't want to spend your time with. Social media isn't a great place either but there the amount of angry people who want to harm you is lower.

Find our social media and do what? Expose? To who? People who are active on social media are already exposed. They even have links in their steam info. Don't be so dramatic.

You can't know if they are real or not.

Considering a profile picture can be fake without you knowing, this can also end up in finding the 'wrong' person.

Easy rule: Don't say things on the internet that you wouldn't say directly in someone's face in real life.

Yup there will always be someone who tries to hurt you in any way. I had a pic uploaded aswell and someone who didn't like me stole it and created a fake steam account with it. He got a permanent community ban within few days tho. It is quite sad that some people go such paths but then again we also have people who cheat in video games. If everyone would just be nice we wouldn't need an anti cheat and nobody would be afraid of posting real life pictures online. Of course many do this on social media like facebook, instagram etc. but they most of the time hide their gaminging identify from their real life identity - for a reason - in gaming you find the most toxic people. Probably because everyone competes against each other and many get emotional over losing a game or argument.
