i cant tab back

i just alt tabbed but i cant go back to cs2 literally nothing happens when i click on the icon

it most probably crashed, open up Task Manager and see if it says "Not responding" next to the game, if it does you can only close the game via End Task and relaunch it again

p.s. usually if something is "Not responding" it could be not a crash and sometimes such applications do come back, but in case of a crash they don't, alt tabbing from true full screen games usually causes a crash on Windows

what other games did you try it in? I'm asking because there are almost no new games that do true fullscreen, for example PUBG doesn't, most other UE4 and UE5 games don't, Unity doesn't anymore I guess because I haven't seen a game that does it for a long time, Tarkov doesn't, 7 days to die didn't when I last played it

This game is just all buggy after it changed from CSGO to CS2, they should apologize for the most major problems right now players are facing the current version of the game!!

do source 1 games have true fullscreen they worked fine for me csgo didnt have that issue either

yes, source 1 and goldsource games do have true fullscreen, and I don't know how you didn't have that issue in csgo, I had it crash a lot by alt tabbing

maybe how good your PC is also factors in, my PC wasn't really good at running CS:GO and is pretty bad at running CS2 too, maybe your PC is better than mine but not enough to run CS2 without crashes when alt tabbing

most CSGO and CS2 crashes I've been experiencing were from me alt tabbing while the game was loading, either starting up or loading into a map

no, when OP alt+tabs from the game (goes to desktop while the game is still open in the background), they can't go back into the game because the game hangs and crashes, usually it happens when you either tab out and tab in too fast or tab out while loading, but sometimes occasionally

also I just remembered, this command might help, it allows the game to run full-speed in the background instead of conserving your computer resources while the game is not focused:

engine_no_focus_sleep 0

it should be saved if you write it into console just once but yes if you want it as a launch option you can have it like so:

Brother. It didn't crash for ♥♥♥♥. Don't even try to defend Valve. I can't alt tab the game and then go back in. It gets stuck there not letting me alt tab back in LITERALLY AROUND 80% of the time. It's a prevalent bug in the game and that's that. CS2 is still a beta like it's the first month. Valve=shameless
