I just want to play casual but my god, this game has been ruined

Integrating competitive into the main game means everyone on it plays comp. The good ol' days of CS, the past 25 years of CS, they're dead. All those 1.6 servers I used to find, tens of thousands in its heyday... now there are approximately 200 CS2 servers at a given time, 150 are totally empty, 5 are private servers with players scrimming on em, and the other 45 are just bots, with about 5 players perusing them trying to find other humans.

Every single casual rotation is comprised of 2-4 maps, most of which everyone is sick of. The new ones almost always suck. The only 2 new great maps I've seen added since CS:GO were Austria and Agency, both of which are long gone. Canals and a couple others were okay. They're gone. The maps that persist make little sense. Anubis looks good, but it's terrible.

I'm playing for 30 minutes today, switch servers because F Anubis, get in another server... discover the enemy team is pointing out how our 25-3 is obviously cheating. And he is. I'm like "yo someone kick him"; crickets. Ah, whatever. A minute passes, I votekick him. 8 votes instantly against. Then they all votekick me. It's like the servers are run by roving bands of hackers who just like going 8-0 then starting another game, rinse and repeat. (Yeah, on casual. Casual!!!)

Dissociate CS2 from competitive play. Stop integrating the two. What you've done has NOT helped the scene, ffs. Let the playerbase go back to /WANTING/ private servers.

My hard drive on my old computer from 1.6 days has over 14000 maps on it. We used to play ALL sorts of things, and there were some wildly entertaining maps. But with every single change that comes, it looks more and more like the old days simply cannot come back... even though it shouldn't be hard.

What's worth playing for anymore?
(That's all I've heard from friends: "bah, it's just cheaters, I'm done.")

Please, I have some vague ideas of how to do it.... but push for everyone embracing private servers. Let's take CS back to its roots. Let admins ban hackers as they please. I've been doing casual for literally 25 years, but this cannot go on. It's SO bad.

14,000 maps on your old hard drive but not willing to play Anubis. You played all sorts of things back then because there was a lack of alternative. You couldn't just queue up at any moment and get matched with random people within a few seconds.
Back then you had to go out of your way to find 4 people to play with, host a server and then look for teams to play against.
I don't want private servers back.
I don't want to sit and wait on a public server until it fills up.
I don't want to moderate a server or have someone on a power trip ruin one of my favourites.

This has to be the most... "uninformed" post ever, to use a euphemism. I see you have 1.6 installed, but you clearly haven't the FAINTEST idea what you're talking about.

And yeah, if someone powerhungry admin bans you from a server for hacking and you weren't hacking, oh well. I'd rather have those conditions.

When I literally leave the "search for servers on any map of cs2", I leave it up for 20 minutes, it comes up with 200-300 servers, with maybe 5 actual people in total.
And I wasn't alone in doing so.

Last couple months I've been trying with some friends to make our own servers to get randos on, but we all experience the exact same thing. We're all finding no one out there when we look.

How do you think people went about populating a 20 slot public server without sitting on it for 30 minutes until other players decided to join in? if you just sort by the amount of players and join the very first server you obviously wouldn't know about those struggles.
How do you think people went about finding people for their pcws?
Server admins also weren't present at all times back then, idk why you'd assume someone who's cheating gets instantly banned.
Judging by the Casual games I play every week and the amount of people who call cheats on others while they haven't the FAINTEST idea how to play the game....yeah, I'll pass on them having the ability to ban people from their server.

Hello friends, in CS:2, I had a 24-hour general waiting time written in red. May I know what is the reason for this? I have never used any cheats, it says it is marked as irregular gameplay. When I want to write to Steam support in the game and select the general waiting time, it says general waiting time is an unknown error. Can anyone experiencing this problem help me? I don't understand why I'm banned?
