My new RIG has ♥♥♥♥♥♥ FPS
Guys i need some assist.
Build a new rig 1 wk ago (NO NEW GPU THOUGH) and please dont get mad i have been browsing though every site i can find before posting this but at this point i think im just missing something obvious

Setup:

X670E-PLUS

7700X

DDR5 6000MHZ 32GB 2x16GB EXPO VENGEANCE

WD 850 500GB M2 Gen 4

RTX 2060S

ML240 V2 WATERCOOLER

PSU 750W

Dell 32in 164hz

I have updated BIOS, NVIDIA and all WINDOWS updates.

I have activated EXPO 2, running on 6000Mhz

CS2 Settings:

1920x1080, Full screen, 16:9

Boost Player Contrast: Enabled

Wait for Vertical Sync: Disabled

Multisampling Anti-Aliasing Mode: 4X MSAA

Global Shadow Quality: High

Model / Texture Detail: Medium

Texture Filtering Mode: Bilinear

Shader Detail: High

Particle Detail: Medium

Ambient Occlusion: Disabled

High Dynamic Range: Quality

FidelityFX Super Resolution: Disabled (Highest Quality)

NVIDIA Reflex Low Latency: Enabled

Settings in Nvidia

Image Scaling: Use global setting

Anisotropic Filtering: Application-controlled

Antialiasing – FXAA: Off

Antialiasing – Gamma Correction: Off

Antialiasing – Mode: Application-controlled

Antialiasing – Transparency: Off

Background Application Max Frame Rate: Off

CUDA – GPUs: Use Global Setting (All)

Low Latency Mode: On

Max Frame Rate: Off

Multi-Frame Sampled AA (MFAA): Off

Texture Filtering – Anisotropic Sample Optimization: Off

Texture Filtering – Negative LOD Bias: Off

Texture Filtering – Quality: High Performance

Texture Filtering – Trilinear Optimization: On

Threaded Optimization: Auto

Triple Buffering: Off

Vertical Sync: Off

I downloded MSI afterburner och checked on mirage which according to all should have the highest FPS

FPS MIN 140
FPS AVG 190
FPS MAX 327
FPS 1% LOW 109
FPS 0.1% LOW 66FPS

What am i missing here??? How arent i getting better fps?
I have tried playing around with nvidia Reflex, disaable, enable and boost and gives very little differents. Even tried Ulra on low lactancy in Nvidia control panel with very little impact.

I have also tried fps_max 0, 400, 100 etc etc..

Will try it, however my friend copied my cfg and has a 5600x with higher FPS than me... so the question is, should i have to go lower than i have just to get better fps on a better rig than my friend?

do you have set curve optimalization and resizebar in bios enabled?
Your friend maybe have better GPU (2060 is older card) its not only deppends by CPU.

Its your GPU bro its a old GPU its a fps game but the fps wont help you much,
I just upgraded to 4070 super -300fps set to 300 it does not go down much.
Update the GPU dont get a 30 anything and better to go a Super over a Ti.

I have to check the curve op and resizebar.

My friend has 2060S as well!

The caveat is the fact that my buddy has the same HW as me apart from the fact that i have 7700x and he has 5600x.

He copied my CFG and my nvidia settings aslo. Hes FPS didnt improve but got a smoother game, i guess less latancy.

So how can a better CPU with same GPU perform worse when CS2 settings and Windows settings are same as him
Zemák?! Apr 23, 2024 @ 4:48am
5600x is am4 platform and 7700x is am5. ram types + motherboard can work better on am4. You can have higher temps and cpu is temeratureplimited etc.. You can have bad PSU... too much options bro.

limit fps to 140 and check the results again, what lows are you getting?

then try 200 and compare results is it much worse or better?

then you know if the issue is refresh rate.

as Said MSSA eats a lot of fps , so try x2 or off and it will help.

also make shadows lower, its not that important and it also has great fps boost.

The game now is no longer looking that much on cpu as before , it now looks at GPU.

try 144 refresh rate.
disable low mode in NVIDIA panel , the game uses its own.

when checking fps dont stand in one place , make sure you run and use the weapon , and jump around then you know actual results otherwise its not accurate fps information.

in windows edit power plan and make sure cpu has min and max 100% , that way you know its not limiting speed, it might help a bit.

also run some benchmark test on benchmark website , and compare score to other people , then you know if something is not broken.

other than that either upgrade pc or just accept the current fps :/

do you have fresh windows install?
are your friend and you both on win 10?

i would recomment a fresh windows install, then install all drivers, install bitsum power plan

disable game bar, u should try older gpu drivers.. newest ones can be bad
