Need help on GPU upgrade for CS2!
Current setup:

CPU: i7-9700

GPU: GTX 1050 Ti

RAM: 16 GB (2x 8GB) (DDR4)

Motherboard: Asus PRIME H310M-R R2.0 (Keep in mind that it's PCIe 3.0 gen)

Power supply: 350w // <--- upgrading to new golden 700-800w PSU

Monitor: setup: 2x (144hz and 75hz)

INGAME:
Resolution: 4:3 (1280x960)

Video settings: https://imgur.com/a/8nt4ad9
(Everything Low/Disabled except FidelityFX super resolution on balanced otherwise it is Tetris on screen and barely +10 FPS and i'll most likely keep these settings or maybe increase anti-aliasing from none to 4x or 8x once i upgrade my GPU)

This is how my FPS looks like in Dust 2 DM on a good day: https://streamable.com/baelhx

Options to upgrade GPU (Nvidia):
1. RTX 3050 (289 $)
2. RTX 3060 (364 $)
3. RTX 4060 (450 $)
4. RTX 3060 Ti (544 $)
5. RTX 4060 Ti (559 $)

Options to upgrade GPU (AMD):
1. RX 6600 (338 $)
2. RX 6600 XT (375 $)
3. RX 6650 XT (413 $)
4. RX 7600 (488 $)
5. RX 6700 XT (525 $) [+it can fully utilize itself even on PCIe 3.0 but idk if it matters]

I'm aware that CS2 is a CPU heavy game but i believe that my i7-9700 is relatively ok CPU for what i need it for (solid 250+ avg FPS on low settings) and my decade old GTX 1050 Ti dinosaur needs to be replaced ASAP and i'll have to worry about CPU upgrade in the future. Source 2 engine with its lighting, smoke and water physics are way too heavy for my current GPU to handle and fps dips below 100 in a lot of cases (on good days it's 120-180 FPS and anything in-between, but it's still very bad for competitive CS)

the RX 66XX cards, the RTX 4060, and the RX 7600 XT are all wired up PCIe x8, and my motherboard is only PCIe gen 3.0.
The RX 6700 XT is wired up x16, so it'll run at PCIe 3.0 x16, which shouldn't really limit its performance. but i saw a lot of posts that it only makes like 5% diff but considering i play on 1280x960 i don't think i'll be pushing GPU bandwidth to its limits.

Right now i'm leaning more towards RTX 4060 but i'm not convinced yet. I'd appreciate any advice from PC experts in here. Thanks! <3

Any of those beside 3050 will be fine for 144hz with 1280x960.
But I'd buy newer \ better one to be able to play other videjgames comfortable.

Also AMD is better in term of cost \ perfomance ratio, but it has some downsides compared to NVIDIA if you're into working \ rendering \ gamedev.

take over the settings from Steam (the one with the asterisk*) then zoom max2-3 in the small picture on the left. Then go into the game, open the console and try to confirm the fps_max 300, ore 400 enter. You may be helped by this ore higer

SRY MY ENGLISH IS SO BAD :steamhappy:
UPDATE: RTX 3060 also an option for 364$

my fps is really bad even on fps_max 0 (uncapped) i doubt that capping it to 300 or 400 will do anything significant but thanks for the advice <3 :steamhappy:

Buy that. Best deal.
yeah i think 30 FPS diff isn't that big of a deal https://youtu.be/l35DeU-EOg0?t=131

+ instead of 1080p i'll be playing 1280x960.
Only thing i'm concerned about is that 3060's were heavily used for mining i think and even tho it's trusted shop, i'm not sure if they're 100% honest but it has months of guarantee so i'll give it a try ig.

thats my system and i play with 400fps max permantliy.

I think that you shouldn't spend too much money, unless it doesn't bother you, then of course the ones you can afford. But yes, that's enough

I've had many AMD GPUs, they all had issues in regards to performance and features. 2 of them kicked the bucket. Since then I've had 2 Nvidia GPUs, one used and the other refurbished. Never had to worry about the drivers, I barely use the Control Panel (once in a blue moon), the games just work, the cards just work.

If you're on a budget and also hate Nvidia, go for AMD. If you want something that works well and you don't care about the shady history of Nvidia and you don't mind paying a bit more, just get an rtx gpu.

I personally would go for a refurbished card, preferably an old flagship. But I'll make sure the place you're getting the card from has good reviews first.

that's what i'm worried about on AMD GPUs, otherwise it'd be easy choice.

It's ok if you plan to play only CS2.
If you want to play other modern games it's better to look for something stronger.

Currently have 7900xt and never had any problems with both old and modern games.
The only problem I got is I can't use the alternate mesh baking method in Unity 6.

Considering its PCIe slot, I'll go with RTX 3060, but $364 is a bit expensive for 3060 I think.
If you want to play demanding(unoptimized) games, then consider a better GPU.
Either 6600 XT or 3060.....the former is faster
