that was possible in cs:go as well. dont get me wrong i think they’re boting the playercount but, people not playing casual doesn’t matter to valve, only when people don’t play competitive and arent buying skins
People have been saying CS has been dying for the past 9 years, and guess what happened consistently year after year?
CS beat it's previous records. Every. Single. Time.
CS isn't dying, your interest in it is.
No, CS2 is dying, they are having to bot the numbers up and even that, im guaranteeing you over half the players are on faceit over regular matchmaking... which is bad. You probably also have a good majority of them that are on the CSGO beta profile that you can select on the properties tab on the game.
Pros are leaving, CC's are, twitch numbers are dropping, CS2 unless managed properly by valve and given an actual anti cheat that doesnt ban legit players (it does lol), will drop in playercounts again and again and again until valve says something
then when you start facing against cheaters because you dont care about the fact vac isnt doing anything, dont come crying to us 🤷♀️
😂 trust factor doesn’t matter when a majority of players who cheat in cs2 don’t make it obvious anymore, why “legit cheating” is a thing. Players who legit cheat dont get reported nearly as much as rage hackers
Game has faults,
People are leaving,
But more people are coming than people are leaving: hence, game grows.
Don't forget, CS isn't just a game at this point - it's a brand. The moment valve fixes their issues and the anti-cheat, people will come back like they did when the UI got updated, and when CS2 came out.
People said CSGO was dying when opskins got banned, it didn't. People left, they protested, they boycotted.
Year or so passed, same people that left came back.
Like I said, CS is a brand. It's etched in people's memories as a game you can jump in, play, mess around with friends, and socialize with others.
Or just play matches with random strangers to set your steam of off work. There is no viable competitors that are as well maintained with updates as CS, not even Valorant.
Also, twitch numbers are seasonal more than anything.
As a person who authored one of the first Trust Factor guides in CS, this is completely false. Starting from the fact that Trust Factor doesn't matter.. let's break it down (I hate doing this but I have time to kill):
1 - If you have a good Trust Factor, your chances of encountering a cheater or disruptive players is extremely low. People who say that it doesn't matter almost always have a low Trust Factor, mostly for griefing and getting reported.
2 - Yes there are cheaters, a lot. The new game mode has quite a few of them that are saturated at higher ranks, however - this is avoidable by playing normal comp. That or Faceit.
I understand that's not ideal, but even I am patiently waiting for an update that makes it easier for us.
3 - What on earth is even "legit cheating"?
I think I have a rough idea of what you mean, and if it is what I think you mean.. here is my answer:
If someone is good at hiding the fact that they cheat, whether or not they are blatant does not exclude the fact that they are using external scripts.
An anti-cheat in most cases cannot deferentiate whether someone is or not being blatant by our standards, it does not matter to it, nor does it even have to capable of it (except for spinbotting of course).
So even if a person is "legit cheating", they might be able to trick a few people - but they won't trick the anti-cheat.
Edit: OP I see the red ban on top of your profile, if you are willing to learn but can't comment: you can add me and I can provide some sources to help you better understand how things might work.
If you want to argue on why I'm wrong - please don't add me.
Regards,
Vlad
