It is still one of the most popular games in the world, so no wonder it got even more players after update, because CS2 is basically better than CS:GO. And it is not even a year since the release, while for CS:GO it took 3 years after the release to become at least playable.
In 2022 these forums were full of threads where people said that CS:GO is a dead game, unplayable and infested with cheaters, and also said that charts are fake and so on. Literally nothing changed in that way.
say whatever you want with cs2 or valves attitude towards it, this game will always continue to have 1 million daily players. This game has NO alternatives. I see a lot of people complaining about cheaters and trashing the game but yet they are still playing it
Also "worst state" is highly subjective,
To most people the game is fine and in some instances better than GO,
gameplay is on par with GO outside some fundamental changes like how utility works and the slight awp nerf.
The actual netcode is straight up better
The most played content is here, The only thing missing are the least played maps and modes or some maps valve straight do not own. |
Most features that are actually going to return or not currently being overhauled are here,
The Pro Scene just had one of the most watched and exciting majors,
We were getting improvements every week from September to January. Then things slowed down a bit with holiday break, the major and the game in generally good state so now focus can shift to the more complicated and long term issues. AKA cheaters, how Custom Community content will even work,
The community is hard at work making new server plugins/mods
And its only been 7 months from the actual launch.
For most people the game is fine to play and that's why the player count is shifting back towards what GO was at the end of its life.
Most of the negativity comes from discussion page which has always been the complaints department for 0,5% of the player base, Or r/cs2 which at this point has just turned into another r/vacsucks.
Pros will always complain because that their job and they have been doing so since 2004.
The things you're talking about never happened to me. Not in CS2, not even in CS:GO.
theres no way you saying cs2>csgo lol. not even the pros are saying that.... please, re-evaluate the ♥♥♥♥ game youre defending. csgo has fallen from grace
