lost elo for "playing with a cheater"?

apparently ive lost 3k elo for playing with a cheater, but i havent played with any cheaters, i went through all of my friends list and no one has been banned on cs and if they have been banned, i never played with them, is any one else having this glitch? is valve gonna fix it instead of sitting on their lazy asses? ive played with like 1 person the past week and he isnt banned so wtf is happening

Bans can be delayed by months, so you could have layed with a cheater months ago and they finally got banned.

Any match you won or lost if there was a cheater on, was marked as invalid and subsequently will decrease your premiere elo

Yea when a cheater gets banned all matches they have played in get thrown out, they don’t have to be in your party or on your team, just in the game. They may not have even cheated in the game but makes no difference.

I played with a guy spin hitting on office like a month and a half ago but I wasn’t queued with him? Why would I lose elo if he ended up being the one who got banned

Because the game is thrown out. Any elo that was gained or loss is reset to 0, its like the game never happened. It’s to discourage boosting of accounts by cheaters.

You can lose a match and still gain ELO based on your individual performance. If anyone at all in that match was cheating, all changes in your ELO from that game will have been reverted.

i spectate all the time but dont see anything fishy, the guy who i thought it was isnt banned, i checked his pf

It happened to our team too, somebody in random queue happened to have some ♥♥♥♥, but It doesnt justify to let us all without ANY elo.

Because the ELO lost is from legit games, you can't punish 300 games because a random guy who you dont even know got banned while playing with you in a SINGLE game. You can't support THAT is fair. 1 sus / 299 legit
