No, thanks. I don't want to gift my data to Tencent.

Would vanguard even work well on source engines?

I'm pretty sure you've heard the gripes about Vanguard, Riot's anti-cheat thing for Valorant. It's got people all riled up because it dives deep into your system's kernel. That's like giving it a backstage pass to your computer's inner workings. And with Riot being owned by Tencent, a big Chinese company, there's even more suspicion in the air. People can't help but wonder if their privacy's at risk or if there's some other agenda at play.

I am not a kid that is young enough to cheat or be interested in cheats, just talking about the risks of Kernel level anti-cheats.

Kernel-level anti-cheat systems like those overprotective bouncers at the club who think they're doing a great job, but end up causing more trouble than they prevent. Sure, they're supposed to catch cheaters, but they also mess around with your computer's core, snooping on everything like it's their business. It's like having a nosy neighbor who thinks they're entitled to know everything about you.

And don't get me started on the stability issues. These anti-cheats can mess up your system faster than you can say "blue screen of death." It's like trying to juggle flaming torches – sooner or later, something's gonna go up in flames.

Plus, there's the whole privacy thing. Who knows what these anti-cheats are really up to when they're digging around in your computer's guts? It's like having a stranger rummage through your underwear drawer – not exactly a comforting thought. So yeah, while kernel-level anti-cheat systems might sound like a good idea on paper, in practice, they're about as much fun as a root canal.

And also imagine your PC is owned by a Chinese company. For some, this might not ring any alarm bells. You might trust the company implicitly and feel completely at ease with the situation. However, for others, it could stir up some concerns. What if this company decided to misuse its power? What if they used your data for purposes you didn't agree with, or worse, for malicious intent? It's like handing over your personal diary to someone you barely know – you'd hope they'd treat it with respect, but there's always that nagging worry in the back of your mind. So, considering these possibilities, how would you feel about your PC being owned by a Chinese company?

You can't simplify the situation that much, lol.

So, you think the data collected by an anti-cheat with Ring 0 Kernel access that starts running at system startup is on the same level as the data collected by a washing machine.

They should just focus more on improving and making VAC live more effective.

If the cheating issue worsens within a few months, I'll agree with you on the 'Kernel anti-cheat' matter.
