Is anyone out there using Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, is it OK with CS?

Maybe I will try it and if I can't play then I will take a break from the game for some months. The problem is I love being terrible at this game.

Dont, I have Ubuntu, and I have tried again 5 minuts ago CS2, I have played in CS2 about 40 hours:
They still cant fix stupid stuttering and VSync for Linux. Its horrible support for Linux/Steam Deck, from company who created Steam Deck and fork SteamOS.
In game my eyes feel HUGE pain, because of frame stuttering, I cant play this game more than 10 minutes. I hope that people who provide idea to release CS2 without correct Vsync support - will play this game all their life WITHOUT VSYNC.
And yes! This game still DONT support vulkan console command, even with -vulkan option. What a terrible company, at start they still CS:GO, then want that you play with pain..


And yes (last), in-game vsync not working properly! Its not tripple-buffered vsync, its double, with input lag and all another huge DIS to this game and this company!

It plays fine for OP on 20.04 (yes 20.04). OP is wondering if it is time to re-install OS but then might not be able to play this game.

My experience, it is unplayable most of the time. You have one lucky day that it starts and you can play and next day you can't play again. It is been very bad for a while. My other computer is a Mac and it does not work there either.

Usually when I open CS2 in ubuntu it opens it in window mode but it does not render the game at all, although you can hear the game running in the background. If you change the compatibility mode, it would open the game, but VAC would not let you play.

I do not know if it is an issue with the nvidia drivers, steam compatiblity, vac or CS2, but the result is that it is unplayable most of the month having one or 2 lucky days where it works.

If someone from steam/cs read this, I'm happy to collaborate sharing logs or similar.
