VAC Challenge timeout?

I was playing DM and randomly got thiz error I have no other software running in background as matter of fact I have recently installed clean windows 10

Valve? What is this? Is this happening with others?

Yes what do I do? I have done verifying no suspicious background app is running everything is fine from my side

Don't worry the same thing happened to me I think there is something in the game but Im not sure also I don't have any suspicious programs running in the background too

I'm worried I might get VAC ban?

I'm thinking of formating my whole PC and reinstalling everything that should fix VAC errors?
I got like 1 TB of games why valve :(

Restarting doesn't work I get this randomly during match

I was wondering if full PC formate and reinstalling windows would fix VAC errors?

Have you verified the game files?

I had it now the 7th time -.-

It is so f******* annoying -.-

Seems like if many players reporting you some VAC-crap is turning on which gets blocked by your system (for good reason I am sure) and then you get this VAC timeout error.

I didn't change anything on my system since I installed CSGO two years ago and then installed CS2 therefore it is definately not my system creating the problem but the changes valve made on their VAC.

The most important about this issue is that I never saw this messages before:
"Valve Anti-Cheat challenge timed out. Please ensure that you are not using any programs that may interfere with VAC, and confirm that Steam is correctly installed."

Now since 4 weeks I see from time to time more and more players disconnecting with this message. Obviously Valve made some changes on their VAC and now this VAC-timeout-bug happening.

It's clearly their fault, not our.

Only thing that would let me back into a VAC lobby was restarting my PC - did verify game files first.
Haven't had the issue since.
Some claim its a windows firewall issue.

I had this VAC-timeout-bug now twice today and the last time was 1 week ago. I am playing daily and sometimes being best player in winning team.

Why does the error occur so randomly if it is a firewall issue?

I am very sure valve did some changes on their VAC and now it is broken -.-

There is nothing running in the background when I play CS2 and I already followed their advices to solve this problem and still having it -.-

This is a new thing. There wasn't this messages before 4 weeks ago. Two years I am playing this game I never saw it until 4 weeks ago it started that more and more players having this issue inclusive me -.-

Looks like Valve f**ked up with their "updates" again... if valve makes an update that doesnt need to be fixed this will be the day when the hell freezes...

I was playing DM and was landing some good headshots you know when you have those days where you get really good recoil control? Today was that day for me or who know there were newbie players?

I've been loyal honest CS player since 2018 I would never think of cheating I have important inventory and my Steam account is closest to my heart.

Maybe couple of newbie in game reported me that's why VAC error? Or Valve is making some changes in VAC cause I certainly can't formate whole PC I got 1TB of games installed
I reinstalled windows I reinstalled CS2 why is this not fixing?? Should I just play like bot?

Same here. I did check for game files validation and downloaded abt. 430MB of an update. But after that still getting kicked from servers. Valve, pls fix.
