Asus older versions are not bad , they are also cheap .

I have older version 1440p , got it for around 300 euros .

but in e-sport no one plays higer than 1080p anyway , i assume

Yep , I can run on 2K with 4090 , but I9 is not good for that card . I will swap to 1080p in the future . Playing with capped 150 FPS because CPU going above 60-70 Celsius with default 400 FPS .
With 400 FPS 3.3 ms
With 150 capped 6.7 ms

Thats what Im doing .
Temperature under 60 C whole time with good water cooling .
