That being said both my 5700X3D/7700XT and 5800X/6650XT run this game flawlessly at 165hrz and run very cool and no dropped frames.
i have
i5 7400
gtx 1050 ti stable OC
16gb of ram and optimized win 11
i checked my Background apps and its all fine but the frame time of this game is just crap,
and the FSR wont increase a single FPS, the game is very demanding on cpu i hope they fix it somehow buy at least making it playable on this cpu i would rather play cs go then this , its not competitive, not yet
so much nonsense packed in between half truths.
Reviving this as this is what I'm experiencing as well, and I went down a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rabbit hole to try and narrow this problem down, because it felt like a hardware issue.
Specs:
5800X
3080TI
M.2 SSD
32GB ddr4
Visual settings:
Medium, but disabled upscaling so it runs at native 1440P.
Things I've done;
- Cleared the DirectX cache.
- Updated my Nvidia video configuration for CS2.
- Changed launch settings to include; -high -threads 9 -mat_queue_mode 2
- Reinstalled and verified files of the game.
- Checked the CPU temperature; they were fine, but to completely rule out any sort of thermal throttling, I replaced the thermal paste with liquid metal. During playing the max temp I now get is 69 degrees ( checked all cores to rule out hotspot issue), and the core clock would be stable at 4675Mhz, checked with afterburner. Game utilitisation of the CPU sits at around 35%.
- Checked the temperatures of my GPU; My hotspot was higher than I'd like, so replaced the thermal paste and thermal pads of my GPU. Temperatures while playing CS2 never exceeded 55 Degrees, hotspot reaches around 67 degrees, memory temp around 65, core clock stable at 1920Mhz, memory clock speed stable at 10300Mhz, checked with afterburner. Game utilisation of the GPU sits at around 50%.
- Tested with a second power supply to rule out a dodgy component.
- Tested with a second motherboard to rule out a dodgy component.
- Tested with 64GB of faster and different Ram to rule out a dodge component.
At this point, I know there isn't anything wrong with this machine. My benchmarks on 3DMark are in the top 15 percentile when comparing results with the same CPU and GPU.
Other games run at the expected frame rates when compared to game and GPU benchmarks. But after a while, my CS2 performance just degrades, and it feels like my mouse movements are underwater.
I'm tired boss. And I can't be bothered to try anything else.
