Noob Asking: How to Obtain Weapons

I have only a starter pistol and I'm trying to figure out how to get a different weapon (e.g. a big scary rifle) in my possession and be the active weapon I'm shooting. In my inventory, I've dragged and dropped weapons every which way all over the screen, to no avail.

How do I see how much money I have?

How do I buy a weapon with that money? How do I know I've successfully purchased a weapon?

Can I buy weapons while not in the game, where I can get killed while I'm busy trying to buy weapons (in order to keep from getting killed...)?

Once I've bought a weapon, is it automatically put into my sequence of weapons (that I can access with the mouse scroll wheel)? If not, how to I make this happen?

Sounds like your playing Arms race or something change the style of game your playing. Hope u work it out if u cant add me and ill stream some stuff and show you

Press b for buy, then click on what you want. You can go into your loadout and further change the weapons available. You can only access loadout outside of a match, though.

Arms race is a game mode where killing someone gives you a better gun, I believe. You're supposed to reach the end of the guns list and then you win.

I'm actually playing casual-mode bomb scenarios. What I figured out so far is that at the start of each round, I have a few seconds to buy a weapon by pressing 'B' (thx Ghoul Hunter) and then hurry up and catch up to the other teammates. Is there a better way to do this?

Bro, you're not shopping on Amazon, at the beginning of each round you have few seconds to buy a weapon and granades before the match actually starts. After pressing "B" you can see in the top left corner how much money you have (and in the top right corner an estimation of the budget you'll have in the next round). During the match you can drop your weapon and get a better one from a dead team mate or an enemy, if you find it on the ground by pressing "G".
