CS2 Mouse Issue(Randomly stops registering right, left and middle clicks)
Hello
For a while I have experienced an issue where randomly, for random intervals, the game stops registering the right, left and middle click. This is extremely annoying and makes the game not ejoyable and unplayable,

This is the only game experiencing this. I have tried to change the Hz, dpi and other settings of my mouse but no help. It also only affects my mouse buttons, not the tracking, and not the keys on keyboard so I am still able to aim at enemies and move around even when the clicks are not working. It is also random enough that I will go a few rounds without experiencing the problem and sometimes it is so bad that I can't engage with enemies safely.

This is the only game that I have that experiences this issue, no other game does, for example Apex Legends on Proton Experiment or L4D2 naively on Linux. I really want to play CS 2 but while this issue persists, I unfortunately can't.

Any help is very appreciated.
Thank you.

My mouse is Cougar Airblader.

Is CS2 set on full screen on video settings? If it's on any windowed mode, try setting it full screen. I don't think it's a mouse problem, but more of a Xorg - CS2 interaction.

What operating system are you using on the machine you're experiencing that problem?
Also, what's the mouse you're using?

If that doesn't fix it, you should check for the device events on linux, or what Xorg uses for the mouse.

My settings are on full screen 1920 * 1080 widescreen, HOWEVER I am able to access the task bar even in full screen which is not what I expect.

Ie: in the menu where I can move my mouse freely and my curser is visible, if I bring my mouse all the way up, the task bar pops up (the bar with the apps, network settings, shutdown and power options and more It is usually at the very bottom of the screen but for me at the top is convenient). To be more clear I will give example of watching YouTube. If in normal browser settings I bring my curse to the taskbar area, the taskbar appears but if I am full screen in the YouTube video, regardless of where the mouse is the taskbar does not appear. That was the full screen behavior I expected) which is strange.

After changing the settings to Full screen windowed, the issue dispersal which is, again not the behavior I expected. Alt tabbing(changing the window to another app) brings back the previously noted behavior of seeing the taskbar. HOWEVER HOWEVER, changing the settings back to Full Screen (regardless of weather I am in a match buying a gun/changing settings or in the main homepage) the taskbar can no longer be brought up by bring my mouse to it's location untill I alt tab again.

With my limited testing(I will do more test by playing more) when I am able to access the taskbar, I experienced the issue but when the taskbar was not accessible(ie when I changed the full screen settings) I experienced no issues for 3 - 4 rounds(not match).

I will let you know if the fullscreen settings is the issue.

The full screen weirdness seems to be the problem as for 10 rounds I did not alt tab and was not able to access the taskbar and I was experiencing no issues.
Thanks @Platypus for solving the issue :)

Experiencing the same issue as you on Linux Manjaro (Kernel: 6.6.30-2-MANJARO), Thanks for posting this, I hope this gets looked into and fixed either by the Linux community or CS devs:csgocross::csgoct:

Was having a similar issue on Manjaro/KDE,

The solution for me was adding specific window rules for cs2

Window class: 'cs2 cs2'
Maximized vertically: Force
Fullscreen: Force
Keep above other windows: Force
No title bar and frame: Force
