Premier Abandonment
If a teammate decides to abandon the game in the beginning, why does the rest of the team get punished twice? First an unfair 4v5, then the "5 minute" wait time to forfeit and lastly, we still lose ELO all because one person decided to screw the team over. This NEEDs to be fixed. I don't understand why Valve likes to hurt the community with this type of crap.

If they abandon the game I'm pretty sure you're immediately asked if you want to surrender.
If they just disconnect there's obviously that 5 minute grace time you have to wait out because it's possible the disconnected player is just having issues with their game, pc, connection or whatever and might reconnect again later.

Who said anything about crying. Clearly you're just a mad individual with nothing positive or anything that holds any value top this topic. Move on and have a good day.

Its more-so the fact that we lose ELO if we surrender when a teammate abandons. Just makes no sense to get punished twice.

All they would have to do is punish the person who left as they already do but not screw the remaining 4 over. That should already solve the issue with people leaving to begin with. Other games have what im talking about implemented, so i don;t see why they wouldnt want it as well.

Its more-so the fact that we lose ELO if we surrender when a teammate abandons. Just makes no sense to get punished twice.
You're are getting compensated with an influx money at the beginning of each round after a teammate has abandoned the match though.
If you wouldn't lose ELO for surrendering matches people would probably start abusing it and make someone the fall guy as soon as they see they're losing 5vs5

In-game money doesnt change the fact that most of us try super hard to get our ELO and when we get left to an unfair game, theres no point in playing. All im saying is if we surrender when someone leaves, 0 ELO is taken nor given to the remaining 9 players. Only person to get penalized is the person who left. I understand if we chose to stay and fight it out and lose that way and the other team gets ELO, thats 100% fine as we played the whole duration of the game.

That would be a possible solution I would support if that player actually had abandoned the game during warmup or the very first round but you spoke of a 5 min wait time so they never really abandoned but only disconnected from the game and might have had difficulties coming back.

It would probably be very disruptive and frustrating if every game that had a disconnect early would lead to the match being cancelled even if you had played out 3-5 rounds during that 5 minutes grace period.
Just put yourself in the shoes of the winning side wasting 10 minutes for nothing.

You win some, you lose some. If you never run into connection issues or rage quit your games you're also more likely to be the benefactor since the enemy team has 5 and you only 4 wild cards on your team

Premier is garbage, They added some bright colors and large numbers as ranks and all of the simpletons are amazed. They made an Overtime mode that is just an AWP war. If you want good competitive you are better off with anything BUT matchmaking

If you don't want your teammates to leave the match, play with people you trust.

All of my friends already won 10 games, so I had to play solo.
