Hackers have basically ruined this game for me specifically once you pass 10k in premier y ou get tons of hackers and anything under 5k there's a lot of trolls and smurfs.
Valve benefits from smurfs because the person buys the game multiple times; somewhat the same logic between hackers that get ban, the hacker has to go buy a new copy or get a new account. This is why player counts are egregiously high for the amount of actual players we have in CS 2.
Smurfs and hackers are typically trolls as well so there's that.
CS 2 has a very small base community especially in ranked comp. I play the same people now that I did 10 years ago and I've gone through several rank brackets over the years my highest being LE. Last I played CSGO I was DMG.
I play the same people, literally the same people, sometimes 3 or 4 games in a row now just like back in the day.
Narrowing it past that people know who is who's smurf account.
CS 2 is a dying breed and turning more and more into a casual game as they have to compete more and more with big triple A titles like BF and COD in order to stay relevant.
Riddle me this, why can you play COD and buy COD on Steam but EA doesn't promote the sale of Counter-Strike?
Valve knows they can't compete especially if they get rid of half their player base for smurfing, hacking, or trolling so they let these players play because otherwise there'd be like 750k people playing on a busy day.
Counter-Strike is an outdated relic of the past that literally gets visually refreshed while removing content and keeping mechanics somewhat the same. Valve knows this, just like most of their games. Valve is a digital game retailer these days, they are not a software company.
My advice is find a new game to play and don't put much effort into Counter-Strike.
Its an amazing game, always has been, but there are many issues with cheaters and the anti-cheat.
The "trust system" is a wonderful idea, however many users ive noticed are getting put in high risk trust factor with cheaters, which results in their accounts being placed with a high risk trust factor.
Secondly, im seeing users with the rarest skins and walling through the maps nearly 90% of games.
Why would they do that? This makes no sense
