to make sure the profile for CS2 is disabled, but the problem still reproduces.
I would like to add some additional information about the symptoms.
When the mouse pointer and mouse buttons stop working on CS2, if I open the Steam web browser on CS2, the pointer and buttons work fine. However, they remain not working when the browser is closed.
The problem occurs approximately every 10 minutes after the start of a match.
i haven't had this issue, but while ago i saw others complain about similar thing.
is it wireless mouse?
if yes, then it's probably some power saving or other mode, you have to go thru your mouse settings and check if there's anything that may cause this.
cs2 is quite intrusive and it messes with your windows settings, that's why cs2 also causes a lot of BSODs and other random crashes where game just closes.
it might be messing with some power settings and i'm not talking about "power plan", i'm talking about mouse specific settings that can be accessed via device manager.
i had similar issue with one wifi adapter, it had its own power save mode or something like that, so when it thought it's "idle" then it disconnected or throttled. it never happened in cs2 or any other game, it's just generic example of how some simple setting can mess things up.
EDIT: even if mouse is wired, it could still be some setting (ones you can only access via device manager, not in mouse software)
another IMPORTANT thing to note, is that you should NEVER run your mouse nor keyboard software while cs2 is open. most modern gaming keyboards / mice come with software that can make macros and VAC may consider this as cheat.
i strongly recommend closing all of your software before playing.
Yes, it is a wireless mouse.
My PC is a desktop and the power plan is set to default (balanced).
In the wireless adapter settings, the "power saving mode" is set to "maximum performance".
I think it is unlikely that the problem is related to the power plan.
For the mouse software I am using GHub provided by the hardware vendor.
The GHub has an "Onboard Mode" that leaves the mouse control from the software alone, but since the symptoms occur even when that mode is turned on, I think it is unlikely to be a problem with the GHub.
Nevertheless, it may be worth trying to close or uninstall GHub.
Thank you for your comments.
