that's cuz you have steam auto updates on and it updated once you did that.
i had to update steam, cuz i have it off by default, i hate it that when i want to play, then instead i have to put up with steam updates and after every update it screws up my settings .. it's really frustrating. i never use auto-updates, it's annoying as hell.
do you know they're stored in steam's /userdata/ folder? which is often savaged by steam itself.
i updated steam itself and it already screwed with my steam settings .. some dumb alerts turned themselves back on, the idiotic advert-panel that pops up on steam launch .. turned itself back on aswell.
i'm minimalistic person and i don't want to be harassed by all kind of popups, sounds and alerts. i have awareness and common sense, if i need to do something or check something, i know where to look .. i don't want steam rubbing that stuff in my face every time i click on steam.
that's why i stay away from all sorts of updates and config changes, it's really frustrating when steam messes up your settings and you have to redo it all...ugh. just leave me alone with your dumb updates.
1. Delete and unistall all file game and file steam (note: all)
2. Restart your PC and dowload steam.
3. Installing game CS2.
4. Done
Also OP: "nice job cs2 devs!"
