Community/Trade banned accounts no longer allowed to play CS?
  • Steam accounts that have an active account lock are no longer allowed to play on secure Counter-Strike game servers
Can one of the lovely community banned or trade banned players who have alt accounts to dodge their punishment please confirm or deny this?

this is great now perhaps people wont troll as much in the forum if they risk loosing acces to the game for it

there is NO WAY they can restrict access to the game based on some steam discussion cooldown. No way!

If it's a COMMUNITY ban, I don't see why not. Commnity ban is worse than a vac ban especially if it's a long time. You lose so much access to Steam with a community ban. With a vac/game ban you just lose inventory trading + playing the game you were banned on.
as far as I know a locked account is an account that the account owner has locked through steam support website, that's there in case if the owner believes that their account is compromised and they can lock it to prevent further damage from the hacker

when you lock your account you get a code to unlock it, or you can prove that you are the account owner to steam support

locked accounts can't buy anything, gift, trade, play on VAC-secured servers, activate CD keys and access steam community.

so it seems that they've forgotten to include cs2 into the list of those denied-to-play games when your account is locked and now it is included, I don't know for sure though

I was account locked due to suspicious activity and it was a community ban. I got it sorted out though.

interesting, maybe it is possible to get your account locked automatically… so that you have to prove to steam support that you are indeed the owner of the account and you are really the one who wants to do that suspicious activity:D

Still the same cheaters circle-jerking with their alt accounts all day. It's fascinating how corrupt Valve is

Is your showing here a confirmation for you no longer being able to play on official Valve servers as you're community banned for quite some time now?

At the time I can only assume I was mass reported by trolls or something 'cuz no one had access to my account, and I didn't show any different IP sign ins either. The account seemed to be fully secured still. It just happened randomly and nothin was lost, but it was a scare. This was a year or two ago though.
