180hz monitor but stuck at 165hz

hey community i wanna ask i have 300fps more in cs and 180hz monitor asus tuf vg249q3a.... but my cs setting only capped at 165hz, can someone help me with the setting thanks

In theory yes. It will "wear it out" faster but you'll probably end up buying a new monitor before your old one dies. So don't worry about it.

I have similar Asus monitor. It has 144hz panel overclackable to 170hz and I only use 170hz in games like CS.

its not like i push the hz, the monitor it self have capability running on 180hz, but the monitor osd capped it at 165hz, the monitor it self can run 180hz but when in game its only capped at 165hz and i need to overclock it to 180hz

When I open CS 2 it shows 143 maximum .

Anyway in which mode is your monitor ?
In my case it was in racing mode by default , but after switching to FPS mode colours are different , better .

Lol , I just discovered that my monitor can go above 144 Hz .
I didnt want to mess with settings before , but now with OC it can go up to 165 Hz .
It looks like that is the reason why was my monitor always cold as snake .

hi, i bought a Viewsonic screen that can overclock to 180hz, I already overclock it in the Nvidia control panel to 180hz but CS2 is still stuck at 165hz, can someone help me? Thank you so much..

I just bought this monitor and tomorrow will recive, BTW i search for your problem and found solution, you have to change some units of resolution manually, idk what resolution you can use to solve this problem but if you find let me know.
