Can steam support contact me via steam message?

i received steam message from someone saying they are from support, asked me to send them my items or my account will be deleted. I thought its some stupid scam ofc until i didnt have my profile pic and couldnt play my games cuz i didnt have license, after that i thought its real and panicked cuz was also ingame of cs. so was i scammed and can scammers really block your licenses like that?

Scam. They don't send messages. Even support ticket responses are mostly OpenAI generated.

No, its a scam. Steam support or steam staff will never message you via Discord or steam chat. They just edit some images on photoshop and threaten you. Just block and report

No they cant do that as long as your account didnt get hijacked.

If you think scammers alrrady got your account just reset your password, enable steam guard and clear the api key. Or just contact steam support and they will help you out

No, they just spam everyone with lies, and eventually, someone falls for it. Just block and report the scammers.

well i have steam guard so thats why i found it quite odd that scammer would be able to do that

You logged into a phishing site. The person who contacted you wasn't a Steam employee but a scammer.

revoke any api keys listed here: https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
deauthorize all devices that have access to your account: https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/06B0-26E6-2CF8-254C#deauthorize
change your password

Contact steam support Help > Steam support and write a ticket.

In the meantime check for any unusual logins:

If you see any logins that are not from you, just change your password.

This, you used your steam credentials to log into a third party site. They created an api key and have your current password.

i didnt have api before so i made it just now and also changed password to more sophisticated one, so is my account secure now?
i know i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up and its my fault, just wanna secure my account as best as possible.

Steam support tickets are copy paste to prevent certain things from happening, to save time and to help more people
