EDIT: No, I'm not using FSR or anything else to make the game look bad in exchange of couple of frames.
I never was a big fan of 4:3. As soon as I got my first 16:9 monitor I haven't used 4:3 anymore.
Yeah, the player models appear as bigger but in exchange it feels like they move a lot faster and another downside is you get smaller FOV by using 4:3. And of course the vaseline. And probably the most off putting thing for me is that if it's stretched the sensitivity is different for each axis which is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ horrendous. I hate black bars so that's off the table as well. If I'd had an old CRT then I'd be happy to play 4:3.
I get where all this 4:3 fandom is coming from but back in the day when these resolutions were relevant we had actual 4:3 monitors. 16:9/10 monitor combined with 4:3 resolution is way too awkward for me.
