Counter-Strike 2

Why are people obsessed with Counter-Strike, especially CS2 ?
People seem to be obsessed with Counter-Strike, some gamers can't even play anything else.

What makes you love this game so much?

The choice of weapon is reduced compared to before.

There are very few maps, very few modes.

Everything is focused on competitiveness, casual players are left behind.

There is no Team Deathmatch, no Arms Race, no Demolition, no Flying Scoutsman, no Danger Zone.

There's no unranked competitive, and no short matches.

What is the purpose of Premier Matchmaking? It only adds constraints.

While I'm at it, Why do people only think about ranks?

The gameplay is ultra repetitive, you always do the same things...

Have you been addicted for a long time or do you play on old PCs that are not capable of playing modern games?

The number of players has been halved since the release of CS2.

There must be one or more reasons?

My brother is unable to break away from this game, while I recommend masterpieces like Bioshock, Portal 2, or games like Diablo IV, Halo Infinite (etc) to him.

He has tons of games like Cyberpunk 2077, GTA, several Call of Duty, but to no avail, he ends up falling back into CS2.

This is not a shhhhpost.

I'm genuinely asking why people like a game that feel so outdated, rigid, with so little content.

And CS' ultra toxic community doesn't help, but I guess that's not the case here, right?

It's just Counter-Strike, this Game is a love and hate relationship.
Even tho there are Cheater, people still like the competitive aspect.

Learn to read.

Nah, buttercup, I did read. I quoted the absolute nonsense that you think those two games in particular are anything less than mediocre. Masterpiece my ass.

I stopped playing it for four years, not planning on playing it at all.

Are you special in the head or something?
1) you don't need to own a game to have an opinion. There is such a thing as refunding and borrowing.
2) Steam isn't the only platform in existence. Shocking to people like you, I know.

Me neither. I quickly tested CS2, it's just CS:GO stripped of all its content.

9 years on Steam? 48 games? Yes, this is shocking. Go back in CS2.

And x amount of years on Playstation, Nintendo, Xbox, Battle.net, Epic game launcher, GOG, EA, etc. What's your point?

You can have almost all those games on Steam. Except Ninendo games.
People who are passionate about the competitive sport they play, play until their bones break and bodies deteriorate into a mere shadow of what they once were... People who are passionate about the competitive sport they play, are more than just addicted.

Yes, and? I didn't start playing PC games up until 4-years ago and the main games I play aren't on Steam. My account is 9-years old because I made it when I first got a pc, but didn't touch it until just recently.

Again, what's your point? I wasn't aware I needed to devote all my time and money to Steam to be able to play games.

You'll lost your games with new consoles. Steam users keep their games forever.

I don't know how this devolved into a pc/Steam master race discussion, but I am aware of the limitations of console's. I mainly play on PC now, short of exclusives, but I only buy games that I actually will play, not just collect because to me it's a waste of money. And the main game I play isn't on Steam, where I spend most of my time.

Also, Steam is a digital platform, you don't own your games, at all. At least ye olde consoles can still throw in a cartridge or disc and still play their games. The second Steam goes under, all your games are lost forever.
