Datamining?
So Im not IT person and know nothing much about computers so be prepeared for a dumb question!

That said is there no dataminers who look thru data to get info of upcomint events and stuff? I know that in Pokèmon Go there are dataminers who predict pretty accurate about new Pokèmon coming to game and events and whatnot.

And again i want to say that Im far from being an expert on IT and tec-stuff so maybe someone can explain why is it possible on one game (PoGo) and not the other (CS). Or is it just no-one wants to waste datamining CS and If yes why not

Pokemon dataminers predict upcoming content because the game's files contain information about new events, or features that haven't been officially announced.

In CS, datamining is uncommon due to encryption, legal concerns, and negligible community demand, as the events in question would be insignificant (if there was any).

There is nothing new to predict really, we only have 10 maps and 3 modes (DM is terrible)...I saw couple of cheats boasting unreleased operators but could`t care less about vanity

Yeah i agree it's getting rather boring. I do remember some hype about winter cobblestone during christmas and even halloween chickins and ever since then i have wonderd why there are only (now i know they were not true) leaks but nothing certain.

I still dont get why can someone datamine one game and not the other, but thats OK. Legal stuff sounds right surrounding VALVe

Because some devs put update content into client before actual update, and other devs don't.
You can't get any update information from a game client if there is no any update information inside.
There are two people I know of, who often scan public branch of CSGO code repository to see what new code was added. They are Aquarius (@aquaismissing) and ‎Gabe Follower (@gabefollower). In the past they found many interesting things.

What did they found for example?
They were able to found confirmations of CS2 incoming before official premiere, or new skins models being added to game code, etc. I gave you their twitter handles, go see for yourself.

So for Pokémon go there is no legal concerns for data mining?

Don't know really. I know that Silphroad used to co-operate with Niantic to mine, but they stopped funding or something. But there were and i think are others who still mine PoGo

Datamining is going through files of the game, trying to discover things. With some engines, they are easier to look through the files as they are not encrypted or packed in a way that's hard to unpack. And not all studios leave secrets in their game files.
