Whats the new counter strike like?

I haven’t played since 2020 is this new version of CS any good? I have only played a few games since its release so Im not too sure.

I have not met any cheaters yet in Cs2 but then again I have not played that much either.

I quit Csgo matchmaking because of cheaters, broken fundamentals and the devs taking too long to fix these issues (8+ years).

Woe and behold as I moved over to another fps game namely Valorant in that year Valve started making drastic changes and sprucing up Csgo to a fully fixed version! and then Cs2 was released. I was flabbergasted by the efficiency.

Although I am not to sure about this new game as its not really had an impact of bringing me back or have that counter strike feeling from way back when.

Is the game any good?
Does it feel like counter strike to you?
Have you met any cheaters?
Are there still bugs in the game?
Are the fundamentals fully fixed?

Hmm .. most likely full of cheaters !

The gameservers is not responsive enough or hackers is allowed to avoid getting hit and abuse damage modifications, aimbots, wallhack and more !

It is a mess if you ask me ..

Another post about random bobby pretending to be an og but he doesn't see any cheater on the most cheated game of all time.

In general CS2 is slightly better than CS:GO, but not enough to be a true masterpiece like CS 1.6 was. The cheater problem is nearly the same as in CS:GO, the higher rank \ rating you get, the more cheaters you meet, so low ranks \ ratings are pretty safe, but high ranks \ ratings are unplayable.
There is a lack of content, for example, no Retakes, no Danger Zone, no TDM, no Arm Race and so on, so if you were a fan of those, you won't like that.
Also people report stutters and bad perfomance, but I personally never had any perfomance issues with CS2 (considered I have CS2 on HDD), so you have to test it by yourself.

So I guess you just try it for few more matches and if you feel the game doesn't feel good enough for you, you just move on until some big updates.

The spraying and strafing feels off but orherwise I quite enjoy the game.

They still need to add a lot of content back from csgo to cs2 bcs the game is pretty barebones right now.

Also no bobbing and no lefthand is ... meh

I literally said I quit CSGO match making due to cheating since 2020. And only play with face it mainly now. Did you even read my post? I also said I have not seen a cheater in Cs2 cause I have not played that many games yet.

Yes thats ine reason why I can’t play at the moment is because I am right eye dominant and the gun being on the right restricts my view. I’ll wait it out and come back when they add it. Also the tracers are annoying have they added a command to turn that off?

Yes thats ine reason why I can’t play at the moment is because I am right eye dominant and the gun being on the right restricts my view. I’ll wait it out and come back when they add it. Also the tracers are annoying have they added a command to turn that off?

Oof i don't know if there is but I never really had any problems with the tracers

back in 1.6 days i didnt need to buy crates and keys to get skins. They uploaded them, and we downloaded them, and I killed people with a trout instead of a knife...for free

AFAIK the tracers command is now SV protected, so the option is controlled by the server, and not by client anymore.

Also you can use these commands:

viewmodel_offset_x N
viewmodel_offset_y N 
viewmodel_offset_z N

Where "N" is a number from -3 to 3 (AFAIK), which can slightly move the first person weapon position on your screen to make your focus on the view better.

Because those were community servers.
In CS:GO there were also community servers with many mods, different gamemodes (surf, H'n'S, deathruns, RPG, WC3, zombies, coops with NPCs, and so on), with 3rd party player models, weapons and much more.
And in time there will be the same with CS2. Plugin and mod authors just have to rewrite their code to the Source 2 engine and voila.
So I don't see any problem here.
