But why 1280x960 instead of something like 1920x1440?
There is. You can hold more tight angles.
lowering the resolution can be a cheat really .. because instead of the pixel just is 1 on the screen it will fill 4 pixels on the screen and be easyer to hit that is why so many pro´s still play with the lower resolutions like 1024x768 on a 24 inch screen ..
I practice in the higher resolutions and if i need to get into high competitive i will lower my resolutions = alot easyer to hit then
I play in 1920x1440 4:3 because it is as close to my native resolution on my screen ..
but i would love if Valve would try give us 2560x1440p in 4:3, because 1920x1440 is not native resolution for 27 inch screens !
1440p is also commonly used over 1080p in high level gaming, where image quality is almost as important as frames per second when you want to compete, that is why i picked 1920x1440p and teached myself to play at that resolution, i come from 1024x768 so i had to get use to it first ! 16/9 just look to wierd for me because the figures and scene is streched upwards and pressed together to something i dont like to play it is to wierd for me to play with a picture view like that.. that is is why 4:3 feels more natural to me and why many pro players play in that resolution !
If 16/9 would drop some heavy ontop of the picture so it would be like 4:3 then i would switch to 16/9 because it is native to my screen .. but untill that happen i stay in 4:3
oh ? not in 4:3 ?
1440p .. hmm i dont think you can .. it would be idk 2560x1920 then or some ?
I think the same goes for Nvidia too, just search custom resolutions Nvidia
Nvm it's not possible my bad lol

For 1080p I found out there's an interesting resolution of 1728x1080 with 16:10 aspect ratio, might have to try that later
